As a Production Engineer at Polar Specialized Industries, I lead the manufacturing of insulated doors for cold stores and temperature-controlled facilities. These doors are used across the UAE and the wider region, and are a key component in cold chain systems that support food safety, healthcare, and logistics.
My job is often behind the scenes, but it impacts people’s lives in real ways. Whether it’s ensuring a walk-in freezer maintains the right temperature for vaccines or reducing energy waste in a warehouse, every part we produce has to meet a high standard. I manage daily production planning, oversee a team of skilled technicians, review technical drawings, and coordinate with procurement and QA/QC to make sure every door we deliver is exactly what the project requires.
I’ve always believed that engineering is more than calculations or machines, it’s a responsibility. A small mistake in sealing or insulation could lead to a shipment of spoiled food, or worse, ineffective medicine. So, I treat every project like it matters, because it really does.
I work closely with the drafting, QC, and site teams, making sure our doors are not just built to spec, but built to last. I also spend time explaining our designs to the team, solving problems on the floor, and helping improve how we work. I enjoy connecting the technical side with the human side. It’s challenging, but rewarding.
Being part of this campaign is a moment of pride. For most people, cooling systems are invisible. They only notice when something goes wrong. But for us in the industry, we see the big picture. We see the chain that connects farms to supermarkets, labs to clinics, and how a simple door can make a huge difference.
To me, “Cool Skills” are about reliability, precision, and care. It’s not flashy. It’s quiet, steady work. But it’s the kind of work that keeps the world running.
