Advanced Refrigeration Ltd

Women in Coolings:

Back in 1988 I was fortunate enough to be offered an apprenticeship in the refrigeration trade through the government run YTS scheme and started my career with a local Aberdeen company called Sparks Of Aberdeen. This was a great opportunity that kickstarted my way into the field, I will be forever grateful to everyone at Sparks for believing in me. I then progressed into the Industrial sector employed by Star Refrigeration then J&E Hall, the training and experience gained was phenomenal and it was a great stepping stone to where I am now, running our own refrigeration company Advanced Refrigeration Ltd with my wife Ms Jodi Thomson. The team we have here at Advanced are first class and even after 17 years running the company, everyday is a learning school day!
Joining the Institute of Refrigeration was another milestone, It is a fantastic way to keep up to date and interact with more people in the fridge world. Thanks goes out to the fantastic committee members at IOR Scotland and I hope to encourage young school leavers about the world of refrigeration and show some insight into our trade.
35 years in the business and I have seen so many changes from the day I first started. New technologies, new protocols and long are the days of only having three types of refrigerant in the van!! Roll on the next 35 and thanks to everyone that has helped me along the way!
