Women in Coolings:
Hello! My HVACR journey started in 2005 in Zimbabwe as an apprentice. I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of settings such as manufacturing, hospitality, food & beverage, service, oil and gas, institutional, and municipal organizations – one of the beauties of HVACR! I attained journeyman statuses in HVACR and Electrical trades in 2010 and 2014, respectively. I relocated to Canada in 2016 and obtained the Canadian Red Seal Certificate in the same year. Canada has afforded me the opportunity to explicitly explore the H in HVACR. In 2021, I decided to get off the tools and moved into a more challenging (and rewarding lol) managerial role specializing in Asset Lifecycle Management. I do consulting work to help organizations maintain and operate their HVACR systems in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. I am also looking for ways to give back to the HVACR community worldwide – suggestions are welcome and please feel free to reach out.
I hold a master’s degree in Technology Management, an undergraduate degree in Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering, a Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, and other qualifications.
If there is anything to be learned from my HVACR journey, it is realizing the importance of continual upskilling. Sending a big thank you to the amazing people who have helped shape my career.
Thank you WRD!
