The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) through its OzonAction division is the latest body to agree support for World Refrigeration Day on June 26.
The support was confirmed at this week’s UNEP national ozone officers meeting in Paris.
Under the theme Sound Use of Refrigerants, UNEP-OzonAction says it will promote the celebration of World Refrigeration Day through its National Ozone Units and engage or support the day through a rename of event including seminars and workshops, training, skills competitions and special events for consultants, contractors and end-users.

Speaking after the event, he said: “It was an honour, and a dream come true to be invited to speak at the UN Environment meeting in Paris to announce that UNEP and OzonAction will partner with World Refrigeration Day to promote the celebration of WRD-2019 through their National Ozone Units in 147 developing economies.
“The refrigeration industry is often described as being a “hidden” industry. Now we have a day to raise awareness of the amazing work that we do truly globally.”
