As product manager for Geniox air handling units, I try to make sense of all that is happening in the world and translate that into roadmaps and development targets for the product. Geniox also has options to use internal or external heat pumps with the air handling unit for heating and cooling. Understanding the requirements for cooling and heating with heat pumps is needed to make the right decisions.

What skills do you use regularly?

Energy consumption is a large part of the lifetime cost of an air handling unit. Heat pumps can help a great deal in saving energy costs and preventing greenhouse gas emissions. My background in refrigeration technology allows me to make simple models to predict energy consumption and focus development to optimise our integrated heat pumps for the right conditions. Also, knowledge and understanding of refrigerants help in navigating through the fast-changing requirements with regard to GWP and PFAS.

Why does your work matter?
Our products provide a vital service to their users: providing fresh air and a healthy indoor climate. By integrating heat pump technology and tailoring it to the specific operation conditions that exist within ventilation systems, we can help our customers reduce their energy consumption, resulting in lower emissions and lower energy bills.
