HVAC Technician

Women in Coolings:

“My adventure in HVAC began back in 2015 when I started a position in sales. After only a few short months, I found myself in awe of the equipment and how it functioned mechanically. I had never worked on the tools before so I was completely green, however I didn’t let that stop me. I immediately applied to gas school and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

As a technician, I have been in the field working residential HVAC service for almost 4 years now and I’ve loved every minute of it. Some say our work is just a job, but to me it’s my passion. There’s never a dull moment working such a layered industry, we see everything from combustion, electrical, sheet metal and plumbing, to refrigeration, thermodynamics and much more. My favorite part of my career is diagnostics and troubleshooting, it always keeps me on my toes learning new skills daily. Most recently I was also granted the privilege of co-founding a Tradeswomen’s Committee at the company I work for. I’m elated to have the chance to promote available apprenticeship opportunities while also being able to provide positive mentorships for Women on the tools.

HVACR is a remarkable field that’s booming with potential, if someone is hungry to learn and strives for a rewarding career, they will find success in this industry.”
