An Associate member, International Institute of Refrigeration, National officer -Treasurer, Nigerian Association of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Practitioners (NARAP), Founder/ President, Save the Ozone, Nigeria, an Environmental NGO. 2007 UNEP Montreal Protocol Award Winner.
The important role of Refrigeration industry in food preservation and various manufacturing processes cannot be overemphasized.
In most developing countries before now, Refrigeration was was seen as a luxury equipment. But due to innovation and various advancement, it is now a necessity the world over. Thus leading to food security and a sustainable environment. I am therefore glad to be part of this process.
My journey through Refrigeration practice into environmental protection awareness campaign began with an article written in The Proceeding of Refrigeration, between 1976 -77. Volume 73 by L. C. Constant of the Institute of Refrigeration, London. Titled: Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 Responsibility of Refrigeration Industry pages 13-16 precisely. Upon these facts I did founded an Award winning NGO in 1999 in Nigeria, for the protection of the ozone layer and the environment in general. Thanks also to UNDP in collaboration with Federal Environmental Protection Agency now know as Federal Ministry of Environment for facilitating the First Train the Trainer Course on Good practices in Refrigeration and Hydrocarbon based Refrigerant in Nigeria.
My concern now is to use my knowledge and experience to further advance the Refrigeration business to enhance food security and ensure that we have a sustainable environment for this and future generations.
I am therefore glad and very willing to partner with others to advance the course of Refrigeration globally and in particular my country Nigeria. I wish all of us a happy 2022 World Refrigeration Day Celebration in advance. Thanks also for this opportunity given to be part of this unique celebration.
