Ziehl Abegg UK Ltd

Women in Coolings:

Where to start? I guess the best place would be as I did my mechanical engineering qualifications. I was working for a company producing electrical transformers, Crompton Instruments. As I progressed through my qualifications I realized I needed more practical in the areas I was learning so I joined an Aluminium diecasting company called JL French at the time. Here I was able to spend time in the tool room, quality and technical departments. It proved to be a good grounding where I learnt a lot and also got to work with some great people. In 2003 I moved into the world of fans at ebmpapst or back then ebm-ziehl, there I worked as an application engineer in the refrigeration and air conditioning market. Again I was and am still fortunate to work with some great people but when the companies split in 2005 I went to work for Ziehl Abegg UK and haven’t looked back. I started as an internal applications engineer but this time covering all the markets which was a nice challenge. Before long and as the company grew I was given the chance to go out on the road as an Area Sales Manager for the South of England. I loved being in front of the customers and closer to the applications that our products were going into. After 9 successful years I was given the further opportunity of moving into the National Sales Managers Role and in 2020 following the retirement of Les Fish I was offered the opportunity of becoming Managing Director. Proud to say as yet I have no grey hairs even with everything going on in the world, maybe I should dedicate that to my partner and daughter who help keep my life in balance.
