I've been in the refrigeration industry for near 15 years as a service technician, installer, design engineer and a consultant. Every day is a school day with how quickly the industry changes and I'm glad to be a part of such critical infrastructure that impacts everyone's daily lives.
The daily role as a consultant ranges from attending site for scoping projects and liaising with customers, suppliers and contractors, to designing systems, analysing system performance and carrying out market and strategic research.
Why it matters? Without refrigeration, there is no modern world, yet few people know or recognise the engineers, project managers, suppliers, administration staff who keep food safe to eat, ensure data centres operate, and control environments so that medical surgeries can take place. The world would be a very, very different place without cooling.
